In his thirteenth year lielearned the trade of a tinner with Weitbrecht Bro!<.,dealers in house furnishings and hardware. \\itlithem he remained for three years. He then learnedthe tanners trade with Henry Krause, with whomhe remained for four years, returning once moreto the tinners trade, and following this un-til lie embarked in business for himself in a [jartnership with Christian Schlenker inthe hardware .and house furnishing business.
