Portrait of Johannes de Jong (1885-1955), on the grounds of the mother house of the sisters of Onze Lieve Vrouwe in Amersfoort. De Jong was, among other things, coadjutor of the Archdiocese of Utrecht (1935-1936) and Archbishop of Utrecht (1936-1955) . In 1951, De Jong had to withdraw from the board of the Archdiocese because of his weak health, after which he withdrew to Amersfoort, in the monastery of the sisters where he had been a long ago; Here he also died on 8 September 1955.
