SASEBO, Japan (Mar. 11, 2019) Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class David Krigbaum, deputy public affairs officer of Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo (CFAS), speaks at a commemoration for the 2011 Great Tohoku Earthquake while Capt. This year marks the eight anniversary of the disaster and Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo honored the victims with a ceremony that was attended by members of the CFAS community. The earthquake and subsequent tsunami resulted in the deaths of 15,884 people across 20 prefectures.
