Pods round, nearly straight, very fleshy, string- less and tender; medium green. Seed reddish brown mottled with buff: 66 per oz. â GIANT STRINGLESS GREEN POD 6V2 V2 52 Originated by Calvin N. Keeney; introduced in 1898. Widely used for canning and freezing. Plant large, sturdy, prolific. Pods almost round, meaty, strictly stringless and brittle; without fiber or parchment, with marked indentations between the beans; color medium green. Seed oval, solid yellowish brown: 72 per oz. â IDAHO REFUGEE 5 V& 64 Developed by Dr. J. C. Walker and Dr. W. H. Pierce and introduced by the University of Idaho in 1934; resistant to common bean mosaic. Plant of true Refugee type and strongly prolific. Pods longer than regular Refugee, straight, round, silver-green, stringless without fiber; seed purple-blue splashed with buff: 98 per oz. â KEENEY'S STRINGLESS GREEN REFUGEE 5 70 Originated by Calvin N. Keeney and introduced in 1908. An outstanding late variety for home and market gardens; very popular with canners. Plant large, very spreading, with many tendrils and drooping branches; heavily productive. Pods sil- very green, round, stringless, brittle, without fiber. Seed violet- purple, splashed with pale buff: 97 per oz. â Suitable for quick freezing.
