The Amenano fountain (Fontana dell'Amenano) , built in 1867 by master Neapolitan Tito Angelini in Carrara marble , representing the river Amenano as a young man holding a cornucopia from which flows out the water that is poured into a tank from the edge convex. The water, overflowing from this tank, produces an effect cascade that gives the feeling of a sheet . Hence the saying in Sicilian " water linzolu " to indicate the fountain. The water that falls from the tank pours into the river below, flowing at a level of approximately two meters below the square.
