Anoverbalanced submerged bucket withlever attachment to the whistle water uncovers the bucket, whenits unbalanced weight opens thewhistle valve. The parts are detailed in the cut. CONNECTION 133. SIMPLE BOILER FEED DEVICE. A is a vent cockto discharge air or steam from the feed tank; C is a cock to let steam from the boiler to the tank; Dis a cock to let water from thetank to the boiler. The bot-tom of the tank should beabove the highest water levelto be carried in the boiler. Thelowest level of the water supplymust be higher than the bottomof the tank. To feed the boiler,first close C and D and open Aand B. Water will then run into the tank. Then close A and B andopen C and D, and the water in the tank will run into the GENERATION OF POWER, STEAM. 09
