The melody tones are those of the fourth five-toned scale. The only intervals here found are the major second and minor third. De- scending intervals comprise about two-thirds of the entire number. The songs of the hours of dancing are peculiarly rhythmic, the following being examples. These songs were not used exclusively in tlie Sun dance, some of them being songs of the various War societies. No. 26.
