The "Unconditional Surrender" sculpture in Sarasota, Florida, is a large-scale public artwork depicting a sailor kissing a nurse in a passionate embrace. The sculpture is based on the famous photograph taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt in Times Square, New York City, on V-J Day (Victory over Japan Day) in 1945 at the end of World War II. The sculpture was created by artist Seward Johnson and is part of his "Icons Revisited" Sarasota, Florida, November 2, 2023
