The Grounds are distinguished for a great variety of natural beauty,which has been improved by the late possessor, Philip Yorke, Esq., ata very considerable expense, under the direction of Mr. Ernes. The House extends 224 feet in front, and commands an agreeable prospect of the surrounding country. A new casing of stone was finished in 1774, from the design of Mr. Franks, and gave to the front the appearance of a modern building.
