Martha Dandridge Custis (1731–1802) was the wife of George Washington, the first president of the United States.


Martha Dandridge Custis (1731–1802) was the wife of George Washington, the first president of the United States. She was born on a plantation near Williamsburg, Virginia. Her first husband was Daniel Parke Custis, a wealthy landowner. He died in 1757. She married Washington in 1759.
