Anna Hyatt Huntington (1876-1973), American sculptor, working on an equestrian statue of Cuban national hero Jose Marti for Central Park, NYC. The statue was cast in 1959 and dedicated in May 1965. Her statue of Joan of Arc, erected in 1915 on Riverside Drive at 93rd Street, is New York City's first public monument by a woman, and the first to feature a real historical woman.
