This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Tibetan Himalayas. Satellite image centred over the Tibetan Plateau. This vast elevated plateau in Central and East Asia was created around 55 million years ago when the north-moving Indian Plate collided with the Eurasian Plate. At altitude above 4500 metres, it is the highest and largest plateau in the world. Imaged by the Sentinel-2A satellite, on 1st February 2016.
