Trial and execution of Viscount Stafford, London, 1680. Two views; at the top is an interior view of Westminster Hall showing the trial of William Howard, Viscount Stafford. Beneath is an view of his execution on Tower Hill. Regarded as a Catholic martyr, Stafford was implicated in the so-called Popish Plot against Charles II in 1678. He was falsely convicted of treason and executed.
