One^who knew him well says of him: He was an eminent physician andsurgeon, and was distinguished not less for his professional skill thanfor his active piety and benevolence. The Rev. Charles A. Goodrich was not a native of Berlin, but he wasa son of one of the pastors of the Worthington church, and he spent a ^ Mr. Edward W. Afterhis fathers death he removed to Worthington, where he was eno-ao-edmainly in Avriting books for publication. He was the author of a num-ber of Avorks which enjoyed a high degree of popularity. His Historyof the United States, for schools, went through many editions, and isstill in use. His Bible History of Prayer was one of the latest andmost useful of his books.
