Village of Fiskardo, Kefalonia. Picturesque view of a brightly painted entrance and bell tower of Fiskardo’s Church of the Panaghia Platytera. The busy fishing and ferry port of Fiskardo is a favoured tourist destination where visitors arrive by both land and sea. Due to the geology of the area, Fiskardo escaped the devastation experienced by the rest of the island in the 1953 earthquake. The village is said to retain much of its original Venetian architecture.
