the srebarna nature reserve is a freshwater lake of 900 hectares situated in northeastern Bulgaria it is a unep-wcmc protected site a combination of the united nations environment programme and the world conservation monitoring centre. it was included in the unesco world heritage list in 1983. it is very close to the river Danube on the roumainian border near Dobrich
