Sterile fronds perennial, coriaceous, deep-green on the upper, pale on the under surface, narrowly lanceolate, subacute at the apex, gra- dually narrowed and decurrent at the base, entire or slig^htly sinuate, with the margin recurved and diaphanous, 15-28 cm. long", cm. broad; veins rather obscure, diverging from the thick costa at an angle of 60-70 degrees, about 2 mm. apart at the base, forked or simple, subparallel, terminating below the mar- gin of the frond in a thickened and simple or forked apex. Fertile fronds lan- <;eolate, smaller and with closer veins than the sterile, about 15 cm. long, cm. broad? sori covering the whole under surface except the costa. This fern grows on rocks and rarely on trunks of trees, along mountain streams. It was first collected by Mr. E. Yoshinaga in August, 1887, at Hono- kawa-yama in the province of Tosa.
