The Holy Face of Lucca. It is said to show the true resemblance of Jesus Christ and has been venerated by pilgrims since the 9th century. Radiocarbon dating suggests it dates from between 770-880 AD. According to notes in the Lucca cathedral it is "the oldest surviving wooden sculpture in the Western World." Duomo San Martino. St. Martin's cathedral. Lucca, Lucca Province, Tuscany, Italy.
