Town of Baie-Johan-Beetz located in background with foreground showing arm of the St Lawrence to the right and purple Fire Weed to the left and mid foreground. Several years ago a forest fire came close to destroying the town but a change in the wind altered the course of the fire and saved the town from annihilation. People were all in small boats out in the bay fearing the worst from the advancing flames. The large red roofed building to the left had been the domicile of the founder Mr. Johan Beetz. Another red roofed building, the church, can also be noted in the town.
