Soldiers who are 89B-qualified are tasked with receiving, storing, and issuing conventional ammunition, guided missiles, large rockets, explosives, and other ammunition and explosive-related items. During phase two of course training, students receive a block called "Prepare Munitions for Shipment," which covers securing munitions for movement and loading and unloading munitions, using drawings. That classroom training is then followed by a hands-on practical exercise at a railcar loading pallets.
