Ishibutai Tumulus - The Ishibutai tumulus was first excavated in 1933 but at that time little was discovered having been pilfered by grave robbers throughout history. Further investigation found that it had been a large tomb of an Emperor. It is the largest megalithic structure in Japan. Once inside the tomb chamber, it is hard to not notice huge stones that form the walls and high ceiling, and wonder how they got there.
