In 1863 it was organizedas the First National, of which he was the the expiration of five years it withdrew from its posi-tion among the national banks, and, in company withhis brother and nephew, Mr. Studabaker organized thepresent Exchange Bank, which is doing a large andgeneral banking business, being the bank of the Studafeaker is also extensively engaged in the pro-duce business, Mr. Waring and David E. Studabakerbeing members of the firm, one of the most extensivein their part of the state. Its sales amount to aboutfive hundred thousand dollars a year. He has been amember of the Methodist Church since 1844. In pol-itics he is a most ardent Greenbacker, and in 1878 wasthe Greenback candidate for Congress, and polled eight.
