The eleventh summer meeting of the New Jersey Horticultural Society will be held August 8 in the auditorium at Bridgeton park, Bridgeton, N. J. John W. Farley; vice-president, Peter Acker- mann; treasurer, John Eblen; recording and financial secretary, Richard Eich- ling. A vote of thanks was extended to the outgoing officers. Secretary Eichling reported that the cash in the society's treasury amounted to $ The membership now num- bers forty-five active and two honorary members. A brief address was made by Solomon Marx. Upon the suggestion of P. A. Chopin, state vice-president of the S. A. F., that the society empower him as its rep- resentative to say that the New Orleans and* Louisiana horticulturists are ready to turn their greenhouses into food nurseries if the government so re- quests, a resolution to that effect was passed.
