Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX) is a radio telescope located at an altitude of 5100 metres above sea level, at the Chajnantor Observatory in Chile's Atacama desert. The dish has a diameter of 12 metres. In the night sky is the region of the Milky Way in the constellation of Sagittarius. The planet Venus is above the horizon at bottom right.
