DAVID A. DAY, D. D. REV. David A. Day, D. D., was born February s. 1851,near Dillsburg, Pa., and died, on his return to Americaone day out from port, on December 17, 1897. During his early youth he desired to attend school butwas not permitted to do so by his employer. Subsequentlyhis wish was granted and when once in school, he maderapid progress and was soon at the head of his class. As tomembership in the church, he was confirmed in the year 1S67and from that time forward became active in church work. Dr. Day entered Missionary Institute, now SusquehannaUniversity, in the fall of 1869, and after having taughtschool near his home, returned in 1870 to complete his edu-cation.
