Shuttle launch. Fisheye lens view of Space Shuttle Columbia lifting off from a launch pad at the Kennedy Space Centre at the start of Mission STS- 75 on 22 February 1996. At lower left is the 'White Room' on the orbiter access arm through which the astronauts entered the shuttle. The crew of this mission were Andrew M. Allen, commander; Scott J. Horowitz, pilot; Franklin R. Chang-Diaz, payload commander; Maurizio Cheli, Jeffrey A. Hoffman and Claude Nicollier, mission specialists; and Umberto Guidioni, an Italian payload specialist. The object of the mission was to perform various experiments. Columbia returned safely on 9 March 1996.
