They are usually found under stones or old logs, mostly tin sandy places, in the Atlantic, Southern and Western States, but not on the Pacific Slope. Leconte classifies them Bull. Buff. Soc. N. Prothorax not constricted at base. Hind angles obtuse and not prominent, large. 3. marginatus. Hind angles rectangular and slightly prominent, small. 4. subsulcatus.
