Wintry image of a section of the Georgian, Trafalgar Quarters, Greenwich after heavy snow fall. Trafalgar Quarters sheltered housing schemes was originally part of the original hospital. Formerly the Royal Naval College and now the Campus for Greenwich University. The Georgian Trafalgar Quarters, beside Wren's original buildings - once the offices for administering Hospital pensions - were converted to sheltered accommodation in 2001. These schemes are all administered for Greenwich Hospital on a day-to-day basis by the Church of England Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Clubs (CESSAC). The Royal Hospital for Seamen was the great project of Queen Mary II, its formal establishment dating from 25 October 1694. The charity still exists as ‘Greenwich Hospital’ as a welfare foundation which supports seamen and their families. Greenwich Hospital has three sheltered housing schemes of which the Trafalgar Quarters is one.
