The Publishers of the Glasgow Post-Office Directory beg to express their thanks forthe liberal patronage bestowed on the work during the long period of sixty-three has ever been their desire that the information it contained should keep pace withthe progress and general requirements of the Second City of the Empire, and everyeffort has been made to render it as accurate and complete as possible. At the beginning of the book will be found a Map of the Environs of Glasgow,the Almanac, Tide Tables, Phases of the Moon, &c. The City Chamberlain and , the City Assessor, have kindly supplied Statistics of the Population of the Cityand Suburbs (see page 31), as ascertained by the Census taken on 5th April, 1891, theParliamentary and Municipal Voters for 1890-91, with the Parliamentary Divisionsof the City and
