The Publi Works Department guest house in Lonar is an old building often rented out to travellers.


About 50,000 years ago a large meteor had crashed into Lonar created a large cirular crater. Now the crater is full of alkaline water and is surrounded by some 10 temples buildty from 5th to 9th century AD out of stones cut into shape.
