Protesters against the 'Garden Bridge', a private green space to bridge the River Thames close to Waterloo Bridge, which Lambeth Council have supported despite the vast cost of £175m for little public gain, protested outside the Labour Party 'Progess' movement 'Governing for Britain' conference which Lambeth council leader Lib Peck was attending. Critics say 'Progess' is an ironically named group within the Labour Party that supports the discredited Blairite New Labour agenda which lost the party the last two elections.
