NAVAL STATION NORFOLK (Sept. 17, 2016) Hull Technician 1st Class Stuart Simpson, checks a pump in the engineering spaces aboard Future USS Zumwalt. Following an October commissioning ceremony in Baltimore, Zumwalt will transit to her homeport in San Diego for a Post Delivery Availability and Mission Systems Activation. DDG 1000 is the lead ship of the Zumwalt-class destroyers; next-generation multi-mission surface combatants.
