Wasted shoulder. View of the wasted muscle in the shoulder of a 35 year-old man caused by a previous shoulder dislocation injury. The dislocation has caused nerve damage in the arm. This in turn has resulted in shoulder paralysis and eventual wastage of the shoulder muscle (called the deltoid muscle). Treatment will involve physiotherapy exercises to try and improve mobility and to build muscle strength.
