Frescoes from the Villa Stati-Mattei, Fresco, transferred to canvas, (1-12) each 12 7/8 x 12 7/8 in. ( x cm); (13-14) each 13 7/8 x 26 7/8 in. ( x cm); (15-22) each 35 1/8 x 20 1/2 in. ( x cm), Paintings, Baldassare Tommaso Peruzzi (Italian, Ancaiano 1481–1536 Rome), The fresco was detached in 1856 from the loggia of the Villa Stati-Mattei on the Palatine Hill, Rome. Together with its companion and other frescoes representing the signs of the zodiac, Apollo, Minerva, and six muses, this fresco decorated the ceiling of an open loggia built for either Paolo Stati or his son Cristoforo
