Heathorders 2 drops of laudanum in i oz. of distilled water, a teaspoonful to begiven every two or three hours. About the sixth day one-half the sutures aretaken out, and on the eighth or ninth day the remaining ones are many cases no further procedure is necessary, but if after some weeks theprominence at the lip border does not shrink, it can be readily clippeS
