An Indian tulwar, end of the 18th century Slightly curved, single-edged wootz-Damascus blade, stained in places with minor pitting. One side is cut with ornamentation and bears a small inscription cartouche. Iron hilt with remnants of the original bluing and richly gold-inlaid edges. Scabbard with original velvet cover, badly torn in places. Silver chape and suspension band.
