STUDY OF SMELL

Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain (MRI). Olfaction, the sense of smell, occurs when chemical substances stimulate special nerves situated in the upper part of the nasal cavity. The axons of these nerves comprise the olfactory nerves which lead to the olfactory regions of the encephalon, located in the brain's frontal lobes.
