HARTFORD O. E. UNION ANNUM-. The annual meeting of the HartfordC. E. Union passed off very pleasantlyat the First Baptist church, Wednes-day, October 24, afternoon and even-ing. The collation which was served soadmirably by the ladies of the Suf-fleld street society was one of themost pleasant features. The suppliesfor this refreshment were furnished bythe several societies as usual, eachcontributing generously. The afternoon meeting was takenup with reports of union officers andcommittees and from each these H. D. Olmsted lead inan open parliament on better unionwork. This opened a discussion thatoccupied some time, on the advisabil-ity o fcontinuing the sectional meet-ing plan of the union. As a result ofthis discussion a special union meet-ing will doubtless be held very short-ly, that the union may be more wide-ly represented. Mr. J. W.
