( cm), Prints, Utagawa Kuniyoshi (Japanese, 1797–1861), In the 1840s and 50s Kuniyoshi was noted for portraying beauties in triptych format. His images of women gave a round, soft impression in 1840s, but an angular, harder impression in 1850s. The dominance of blue throughout the three sheets effectively highlights the touches of red in the women's clothing
