Competitors stand on a Golden Grid on Bridge Street in the middle of the town, and underarm throw Black Puddings made by Chadwicks of Bury 'swaddled' in ladies tights at Yorkshire Puddings on a plinth on scaffolding 20 feet above ground, outside the Oak Public House on Bridge have come from Ausrtralia and Turkey but visitors from around the world take part in the event, which attracts several thousand visitors.
