Chicago Surface Lines Have Safe andConvenient Pay Truck THE Chicago Surface Lines are using a motor truckwith a specially designed body to carry the pay en-velops to its employees at the carhouses and outlyingdistricts. In some cases the truck merely transportspaymasters and large sums of money from one carhouseto another, but trips of several miles are often madeinto the country to pay off line and track men and gangs. PAY TRUCK OF CHICAGO SURFACE LINES engaged in special construction work such as the build-ing of new bridges, tunnels, buildings and general track work. Accommodations are provided for four paymasters, achauffeur and a guard, all of whom go heavily body contains all office conveniences. The paymastersare provided with swivel chairs and work at tableswhich hang on hinges so that they can be dropped downwhen not in use. The table in the center of the officeis used for making up payrolls while the truck is enroute. Within easy reach on either side are shelves formoney trays.
