Glasgow City Council introduces a low emission LEZ zone which takes effect from 1st June 2023


In an effort to reduce harmful vehicle emisions in Glasgow City Centre a low emission zone known as the LEZ will come into effect on 1st June 2023. It means that diesel vehicles registered before 2015 and petrol vehicles registered before 2006 will no longer be permitted in the zone. The fine for entering the zone in a non-compliant vehicle will be £ which is further reduced by 50% to £ if paid within 14 days. The zone boundaries comprise of the east and south perimeters of the M8 motorway, the Broomielaw and Saltmarket / High Street.
