He attended the public schools, graduating from Woodward HighSchool in 1891 and the Cincinnati Law School in 1897. He has been identified with athletics, being a member of allthe athletic organizations in Cincinnati. Mr. Williams has drafted and assisted inthe passage of all the measures relating to the welfare of good roads, and the in-terests of wheelmen and horsemen generally, in the last two sessions of the legisla-lature, and has been identified as the attorney of organized labor throughout thestate. (482). MR. WILLIAMS, of Mahoning County. W. J. Williams, Republican, one of the two Representatives from Mahoningcounty, was born and raised on a farm 10 miles east of Youngstown, May 21, 1869. After spending five years in the normal and collegiate departments of Mt. UnionCollege, he entered Puget Sound University at Tacoma, Wash., graduating a yearlater with the degree of A. B. In college he was a member of the S. A. E. Collegefraternity. He studied law in the office of Hine & Clarke, in Youngstown, and wasadmitted to practice in 1895. Later he formed a partnership, under the name ofMoore & Williams, with Hon. E. H. Moore, the prominent Democratic leader ofYoungstown, one of the ablest lawyers of the state. Mr. Williams has always takenan active part in politics, but has never before been a candidate for office.
