Hyde Park Corner. 19th-century photochrom (photographic lithograph) of horse-drawn carriages at Hyde Park Corner, London, England, in the 1890s. The carriages include traders, taxis, and buses. This view looks north. At left is the Grand Entrance to Hyde Park (the Queen Elizabeth Gate), constructed from 1824 to 1825. At right is Apsley House, 18th-century London townhouse of the Dukes of Wellington (extended in 1819 and 1828). At far right is Joseph Edgar Boehm's equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington, unveiled on 21 December 1888. This photochrom is from the Detroit Publishing Company.
