Postcard from the Western Front: a company of soldiers pose for the camera during World War One. The reverse shows the note written by one of the men, Benson, to his pre-war employer who owned a hairdresser's shop in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, UK. Note the postmark which reads "passed field censor". The postcard reads: Dear Mr P. This is the crush that works our office. Very many thanks for your gift to us which the wife has told me are champion. Hoping all are in good health and that you enjoyed your holiday. I see by the papers that the Bosche has been keeping you awake a good deal lately. Please remember me to all. Will now ring off, and remain yours sincerely Benson"
