When grown on the ground the stems will be curved, while if raised iis a climbing vine, on a trellis, the weight of the blossom end will cause the stem to grow straight. They are very easily prepared for use as dippers, will last for years, and are particularly valuable for dipping hoi liquids—the handles do not readily become hot. Dip- pers of various sizes, of a capacity of from a pint to a quart and a half, can be had from a few vines. Illus- tration and directions printed on each packet. The bulb should be used while young and tender as age detracts from its good quality. Set plants eight inches apart in the row. I'^or later use sow seed in drills and thin to the proper dis- tance apart. When well-grown and pro- perly prepared for the table it is one of the most desirable of vegetables, and should be in every garden. Green or White. Good for tahle use and stock.
