It some-times happens that celts of this general character have one side muchcurved while the other is nearly straight, so that in outline they resembleFig. 8G. Another, 6^ incheslong, with the sides less curved, found at Stanton Fitzwarren, Wilts,has been engraved by the Archfeological Institute.* The same type as Fig. 43 occasionally occurs in other materials thanflint. Mr. James Wyatt, , has a celt of greenstone 9| incheslong, 3^ inches wide at the edge, which is slightly oblique, and 2^ inchesthick, found many years ago in Millers Bog, Pavenham, Beds. There isan engraving of it, on which it is described as of flint, but such is notthe fact. The form is also sometimes found in France and have specimens from both countries; and one from Perigord, 8 incheslong, is in the Museum at Le Puy. Allied to this form, but usually more rounded at the sides, and flatter on the faces, are the implements ofwhich an example is given in Fig. original was found at Coton, Cam-bridgeshire, in 1863.
