A Air Force Airman from the 290th Joint Communications Support Squadron saws a tree branch Feb. 11, 2023, at Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, Michigan. The Airman is attending a class led by Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) specialists to teach basic survival techniques in a cold weather environment. Over the course of three days each class helped assemble a natural shelter. The cut branch is part of a door used to seal the entrance to the shelter. This class is part of the 290th’s annual training.
