This friendly rivalry addsmuch interest to the shows. Englishmen generally commence by speakingof the weather, and finish by referring to thesame subject. It is unfortunate that during thefirst days of the exhibition the weather was veryunpleasant. Many of the English visitors willremember their experience in the Channel forsome time to come.
