Modernisation to Silverwood Colliery, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, 1955. Modernisation work to Silverwood Colliery took place during 1955 to cater for the increasing demand for coal. Norwest Construction were contracted to do the work and in this picture, bricks are being delivered and unloaded from a railway wagon. Silverwood eventually closed in 1994.
